Huntington, NY (June 19, 2020) – Family Service League (FSL), a leading Long Island based non-profit human service organization, is proud to announce the election of officers to its Board of Directors.  In total, the FSL Board consists of 33 members.  For 95 years, FSL has been offering tangible support to those in need, and today, it successfully manages over 60 programs at 20 locations throughout Suffolk County.  With guidance from the Board, FSL is expanding access to vital services, addressing the pressing social and educational needs of the community, and creating innovative models of care for children and adults in crisis. FSL has been award the designation of Top Workplace by Newsday, employees over 800 people, and has an annual operating budget over $55 million per year.

FSL’s history of strong, dependable board leadership has proven even more important with the momentous circumstances surrounding the COVID-19 virus. COVID-19 as taken a toll on the mental wellbeing of countless individuals and families, as well as a financial toll.  With the support of the FSL Board of Directors, FSL has been able to continue offering its broad spectrum of counseling and social services programs throughout this pandemic.  This type of care has been a lifeline for Long Island’s most vulnerable residents.  The Board of Directors and staff welcome the new Officers and look forward to continuing FSL’s important and timely mission of service.
